|Bran Tuama was born on the 15th of March 1990. He is the youngest son of Colman and Ann Twomey, and has four siblings. (Justin, Cldagh, ine and Colmn).|
|He drowned on the 23rd of November 2009 in a tragic accident. Bran was buried in Reilig Ghobnatan, Baile Bhirne, at Mass attended by the best part of two thousand mourners, a testament to the popularity of a man who touched so many lives.|
|Those who knew Bran can honestly attest that
he was a very special young man.
Bran was a star to all knew him.|
|Bran was a second year scholarship student in University College Cork where he fully embraced student life, was popular with both students and staff, was active in many college societies such as UCC GAA Club and An Chuallacht (An Cumann Gaelach i gColiste na hOllscoile Corcaigh).|
Prior to this, Bran attended Scoil Abn Naofa and Coliste Ghobnatan,
Baile Bhirne where he excelled in all aspects of school life and forged
long standing friendships.|
Bran loved all things Irish, and had great interest in Irish culture.
In 2007 Bran was part of a group, called "Na Cbga",
that played African drums and released an album and he was also a member of the
renowned choir, Cr Chil Aodha.|
|Bran was passionate about sport, particularly Gaelic Football. From the very beginning, Bran played with his local GAA club, Naomh Abn and represented the club at all levels, winning many medals. He also played with the UCC Freshers. Bran enjoyed watching all sports, and was a big supporter of the Munster Rugby team.|
Bran was above all else a loving Son, a cherished Brother and a loyal Friend.
For all those who were fortunate enough to know him he was and will remain an inspiration.
